It's Monday of yet another week.
If you're like me, you're just not a morning person, much less a Monday Morning person.
When I worked outside the home, or when I have someplace to be, I'm committed and "up and at 'em" without problems. But since I work from home, this is harder to accomplish some days.
So Day Seven's Challenge is:
How to Become a Better Morning Person
Here are some tips on how to wake up and get your day going earlier:
1. Prepare the Night Before
Since I'm not a morning person, I'm still sluggish, so one thing that really helps is to prepare a lot of things the night before. Things such as:
2. Wake Earlier
Wake up before anyone else does. This way it's quieter and on your own terms. Getting interrupted or "jolted" awake doesn't set a good mood precedent. When your alarm goes off - GET UP! Avoid the snooze button. If you've been working on getting a good night's sleep, this shouldn't be a major problem.
3. Drink Water
Drink a large glass or bottle of cold water first thing after waking up. This rehydrates your system and gives it a jump start for the day too.
4. Eat Breakfast
How many of us skip breakfast in the mornings? Especially if it's a mad dash to get out the door? If you have to, wake up early and prepare a good breakfast to eat every morning. This gives you the energy to deal with the rest of the day.
Make time to do some stretches or exercise in the mornings. Play your favorite playlist during this and get your mind and body revved up for the day.
Ok, it seems like a lot, especially to a cranky morning person like me, so do it gradually. Do some steps for a week and add a step the next week and the next until all the steps seem natural to do every morning.
