You need to plan how big or small you want these cupboards to be. You also need to decide whether you want this with or without the counter tops. Planning about the design, color, and material will help you come up with great looking laundry cupboards.
2. Cutting out the sides
Once you have decided on the measurements, you can cut the sides of the plywood in accordance to this. Clamp the cut panels together and using a jigsaw you need to cut a toe-kick in one corner. This is the bottom front corner. If you are building a wall cabinet, the toe-kick is not required. While cutting the bottom you need to make sure that it is of the required width. The facing panels are the panels that are seen and are assembled like a picture frame which requires dimensional lumber that is appealing.
3. Joining the panels
The base panels need to be joined to the bottom using glue and align. After this, the sides are joined to the bottom making sure all the sides are flush. The top brace panels need to be joined using glue and securing the same with butt joints. Place the front panel of the base in a manner so that it can sit flush to the counter top. The back panel is then nailed.
4. Reinforcement and installing the shelves
All the joints need to be reinforced with screws and corner brackets. You need to mark, after measuring the locations for brackets, two on one side. Once this is done, you need to assemble the facing panels similar to a picture frame.
5. Placing the cabinets
Screw through the back panel once you place the cabinets in their location. You need to be aware that cabinets on the upper side require more of support. Install the doors to the face panels as per the instructions of the manufacturer.
