It's Day 15! Half way through this challenge!
How is your challenge going? Seeing some improvements on your time management and work?
Maybe your schedule isn't working out quite the way you want it to....this brings us to Day 15's Challenge
Schedule around your Body's Clock
I can't count how many times I've told myself "I'll wake up extra early and work on all those freelance projects". But end up not being able to concentrate and put out good writing.
Is this the same for you?
Could it be we're working against our body's clock?
1. Best time to Work - keep track of when you do your best work. Is it mid-morning, in the afternoon, or are you a night owl and prefer to work late? When you find this out, save your large load for this period and you'll get more done. The smaller less "brainy" tasks can be saved for your "slumps".
2. Reactions to Events - keep track of how your body is after different events. For example, every once in a while I have a doctor's appointment in the city (1 and 1/2 hours ride one way), and I've learned that my body just wants to shut down after coming home - nap time. So I don't schedule any "work" for the afternoon after returning from these trips. You should do the same for similar things. Keep track how you are after doctor appointments, long trips, family visits (yes, those can be energy-draining), and so on. Plan accordingly.
3. Give yourself Room - When planning work projects give yourself some room on deadlines and dates. When I accept a freelancing project, I usually add a day to the deadline just in case something comes up or my energy levels are lacking that day.
So, these are quick and simple rules to understand yourself, work with your body type, health needs and such, and still be able to get things done for your clients and boss.
